Maxima has been running the Ginglish Tree charity campaign since 2009. With the help of shoppers, the campaign collects gifts for those who really need them: children from families in need. In December, Gingli trees will be placed in Maxima stores all over Estonia. They will be decorated with children's names and gift wishes, which will be collected together with a child protection worker from the city, district or local municipality.
Fulfilling the wishes will bring joy to many children for whom a gift from an Angel may be the only one. Each year, the Angel Tree charity campaign collects around 2000 gifts. These are delivered to the recipients under the Angel Tree during the festive season with the help of child protection workers.
Since 2018, Maxima has been publishing a character book for children. As in 2019, the three best-selling books in Estonia in 2020 were the children's children's storybook "I care about Estonia", written by Heli Illipe-Sootak and published by Maxima - the first book in Estonian and the second in Russian.
The third most popular book was "Let's invent!", a puzzle book with exciting tasks by Ekaterina Lomaško, Sales Development Project Manager in our Sales Department Dio, Aiti and Estonian Friends". "I care about Estonia!" the children's storybook, was the follow-up to the hugely successful "Our Estonia" and "My Estonian Adventure" books.
Maxima stores serve an average of 140,000 people every day, and Maxima has a team of nearly 3,700 people. In 2020, the retail chain had a turnover of €502.9 million. As a result, Maxima continues to be one of the TOP10 largest companies, employers and taxpayers in Estonia.

The Maxima retail chain has been operating in Estonia since 2001. 84 stores belong to the chain all over Estonia, 59 of which are Maxima X home stores, 22 Maxima XX supermarkets, 3 Maxima XXX hypermarkets. The retail chain also includes 12 production plants and a logistics centre. For Maxima, it is important to provide customers with high quality and Estonian food products.
2015. in 2018, Maxima became the first retail chain to launch an online store for food and groceries, e-Maxima, which was rebranded and renamed Barbora in October 2018. 2020. in 2018, we launched the first mobile shopping assistant in Estonia, which was also awarded the 2020 Retail Innovation of the Year.
